Being behind the wheel of your vehicle while impaired will still get you arrested, according to Chatham-Kent police.
Last night around 5:30 p.m., police received information that a man was sleeping behind the wheel of a running vehicle in a parking lot in Chatham. Officers tracked the man down and through investigation suspected he was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted and the man failed. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.
A 54 year-old man of Inshes Avenue in Chatham has been charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. Once sober, he was released pending a future court date of November 30, 2018.
