Being behind the wheel of your vehicle while impaired will still get you arrested, according to Chatham-Kent police.

Last night around 5:30 p.m., police received information that a man was sleeping behind the wheel of a running vehicle in a parking lot in Chatham.  Officers tracked the man down and through investigation suspected he was under the influence of alcohol.  A roadside breath test was conducted and the man failed.  He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 54 year-old man of Inshes Avenue in Chatham has been charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.  Once sober, he was released pending a future court date of November 30, 2018.
