Nearly 500 runners of all ages laced up Saturday morning to be part of the five kilometre Run for Mental Health at Kingston Park.
The fourth annual event, hosted by the Mental Health Network of Chatham-Kent raised nearly $40,000, funds that race director Jennifer Jackson said will go directly to programs to support individuals and families of those living with mental help symptoms.
“One in four people will live with symptoms at some point in their lives,” she said. “Our goal is to ensure that all people have a comfort level to speak about their experiences.”
Jackson said in addition to support from individuals, gold sponsors Bell, North Kent Wind and Medical Place Pharmacy provided support.
