The CP Holiday Train will cruise through Chatham between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. today, on its way to an evening event in Windsor.
From there, it will head into the United States before eventually returning to Canada in Saskatchewan.
But for residents in Chatham-Kent, the best they can hope for is a glimpse as the train rolls by while the kids are still in school.
CP officials say the train, which is decked out in Christmas lights and decor, will travel along the CP line just north of Richmond Street.
The Holiday Train is a rolling food-raiser, with events aimed at filling the shelves of food banks across the country.
CP officials urge C-K residents to donate to the local food banks.
