The second Spring Handbags for Hospice event at the Everest Convention Centre was an overwhelming success.
The event raised $35,500 to support local families receiving care from Chatham-Kent Hospice.
Guests enjoyed 12 rounds of Bingo with designer handbags as prizes, a raffle table featuring more than 30 donated items from local businesses and residents, and the Michael Kors Platinum Purse draw.
The spring event also offered a unique opportunity to win a mystery bag.
“Handbags for Hospice is always a highlight for our community,” said Brock McGregor, executive director of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, in a media release. “We are deeply grateful to the volunteers, sponsors, and attendees who make this event possible. Every dollar raised goes directly to providing compassionate care to our residents and grief support to families – at no cost.”
The next Handbags for Hospice event will be held on Oct. 15. For more information and updates, visit the Facebook page: @handbagsforhospice-chathamkent.
