That didn’t end well

A Wallaceburg woman face charges after police say she made off with some of her ex’s stuff after a nasty argument.

Police were called Wednesday morning to a Wallaceburg residence. Officers learned a woman and man were arguing when the woman grabbed property owned by the victim and left.

A warrant was issued for her arrest.

Officers located their suspect on Thursday afternoon on Lafontaine Street in Wallaceburg.

A 40-year-old Wallaceburg woman is charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

Truck hits tree; driver charged

Responding to an automatic crash alert, police ultimately laid impaired driving charges Thursday evening.

The alert came in about 5:20 p.m. and pinged on Glasgow Line near Tupperville.

Officers arrived on the scene and saw that a truck had left the roadway, hit a tree, and came to a stop down an embankment and near a river.

The driver was found nearby. Police say paramedics assessed his condition, and he declined a ride to the hospital.

Through all this, police say the man showed signs of being impaired, and blew over the legal limit back at headquarters.

A 29-year-old Dresden man is charged with impaired driving.

Fire alarm pulled; woman arrested

The pulling of a fire alarm at a Dufferin Avenue business Thursday night has led to charges.

Police say officers responded to a disturbance at the business about 11:10 p.m. They learned that staff has asked an individual to leave the premises. During the interaction, the individual became upset and yanked on the fire alarm inside the business.

Officers located the suspect, identified as a 43-year-old Chatham-Kent woman and charged her with mischief.
