Five Chatham residents face drug-trafficking charges after an early morning raid in Chatham on Wednesday.
Intelligence Unit personnel and Emergency Response Team officers raided a residence on St. Clair Street in Chatham shortly before 6 a.m.
“The warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation into the possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking,” police said in a media release.
Officers seized 86.5 grams of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $8,650, a BB gun, digital scales, packaging materials and cell phones.
Three men, aged 35, 40 and 44, and two women, aged 29 and 35, are all charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The 35-year-old woman is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order due to the presence of the BB gun.
