Why are you running?
I’m running to be an advocate for the people of Ward 8 who feel their voices are not always reaching the council table. Residents are dealing with rising municipal taxes, concerns about aging infrastructure, housing and homelessness, and major decisions about the future of our community. I believe people deserve to understand how decisions are made, what they will cost and why they are the right decisions for Chatham-Kent.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
Affordability and infrastructure. We have to take municipal taxes seriously while confronting the reality of aging roads, water and wastewater systems and other infrastructure. That means prioritizing carefully, examining value for every dollar and being transparent with residents about major projects.
Homelessness is equally urgent. We need compassionate, practical solutions that move people toward safe, stable housing while protecting the health and safety of the entire community.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
A more cohesive and effective council. We will not agree on everything, but we should be able to ask difficult questions, listen to residents, examine the facts and then work together. I also want Chatham-Kent aggressively advocating for provincial investment in infrastructure, housing and economic development.
What skills and experience do you bring?
I bring approximately 30 years of entrepreneurial and business experience managing people, projects and finances locally, across Canada and internationally. Entrepreneurship teaches you quickly that every dollar matters, decisions have consequences, and when something isn’t working, you solve the problem rather than defend it.
