Why are you running?
I’m running because I care about Chatham-Kent and I think the council needs more practical, common-sense voices. I’m a business owner, a contractor, and someone who deals with real-world problems every day. I want to bring that experience to the council table and make sure residents feel heard.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
The first is taxes and spending. People are already stretched, and the council needs to be careful about where taxpayer dollars are going and whether we’re getting good value.
The second is growth and infrastructure. We need more housing, more businesses and more investment, but we also need roads, drainage, services and public safety to keep up.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
I want to help make Chatham-Kent a place where people want to live, work and invest. I’d like to see better accountability, smarter spending, less red tape for businesses and development, and better communication between council and residents.
What skills and experience do you bring?
Running businesses and working in construction has taught me how to manage budgets, employees, projects and problems. I’m used to asking questions, looking at the numbers and finding solutions. I’m not afraid to challenge something if I don’t think it makes sense.
