The Mary Webb Centre has welcomed a new music director.
According to a recent press release, Steve Walker has been named to the post.
An esteemed member of the Chatham-Kent music scene, Walker brings many talents to the position, including extensive experience performing live music. A respected guitarist, he’s been part of a wide variety of projects, including Superfly, Crazy Diamond, Kings of the North and the acoustic duo Smith & Walker.
As a musician, Walker understands the importance of establishing relationships with artists and will keep that in mind as he cultivates live music acts for Mary Webb’s intimate setting, according to the media release.
Walker has operated a financial planning business for the past 23 years. In his free time, when he isn’t playing music, Walker enjoys a game of golf or spending time with his teenage children.
He’s also been actively involved in non-profit efforts locally, volunteering and serving in leadership roles.
