Two critically hurt in crash

Two Chatham men are in Windsor hospital after the scooter they were on was hit by a vehicle on the weekend.

The mishap took place shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday night at the intersection of Richmond Street and Inshes Avenue in Chatham.

Police say  a motor vehicle was headed eastbound on Richmond when a motorized scooter, northbound on Inshes, entered the intersection.

The men on the scooter, 41 and 28, were taken to hospital in Chatham before being transferred to Windsor Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle weren’t injured.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the investigating officer, Const.
