Now, that’s a lot of matching.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is celebrating the success of its March Matchness campaign, which raised $194,402 in support of two health-care priorities at CKHA.
Throughout March, the community donated nearly 500 gifts, which totaled $94,402 in support of enhanced mammography services at CKHA’s Chatham site and the Our Hospital, Our FutureWallaceburg Redevelopment Campaign.
Local longtime health-care champions Bob and Robin Hockney committed $100,000 in matching funds across the two campaigns. That helped double down every donation made in March.
“This was truly a community effort, and we are so proud of what we accomplished together in just one month,” said Christine Mitchell, CKHAF president & CEO, in a media release. “Bob and Robin’s leadership created a powerful opportunity for people to give, and our community responded in an incredible way. The momentum we saw throughout March speaks volumes about the generosity and compassion that exists here in Chatham-Kent.”
Several notable community contributions helped drive the campaign’s success, including a $10,000 gift from 100 Women Who Care Chatham-Kent and a $5,000 contribution from the CKHA Helping Hands Auxiliary, generated through proceeds from the Boutique Grand Gift Shop at CKHA.
Donations directed toward enhanced mammography services will support access to modern breast imaging technology and early detection. Support for the Wallaceburg Redevelopment Campaign will help advance plans to modernize the Wallaceburg hospital site.
Fundraising efforts for both initiatives remain ongoing.
“The success of March Matchness is something to celebrate, and it’s also a reminder that this important work continues,” Mitchell said. “There is still more to be done to ensure our hospital has the equipment, spaces, and resources needed to provide exceptional care. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make this campaign such a success.”
