Bowling Thunder will ring out inside Chatham Bowlerama March 29, as Chatham-Kent Victim Services (CKVS) is holding its annual fundraiser.
The fundraiser is in support of local 24/7 crisis-response services.
CKVS has set a fundraising goal of $20,000 for the event.
The goal is to strengthen CKVS’s volunteer-based model, which provides immediate, on-scene support to individuals and families impacted by serious crime, tragedy, and traumatic loss across Chatham-Kent.
“We’re building something powerful with Bowling Thunder this year,” said Leah Cabral, executive director of Chatham-Kent Victim Services, in a media release. “It’s going to be high-energy, competitive, and full of community pride.
“But behind the fun is something serious — as demand for our services grows and the complexity of the calls we face increases, this goal is an investment in strengthening the support Chatham-Kent depends on.”
This year’s event will feature a silent auction, prizes for top teams and individuals, and recognition for top fundraising teams and individuals.
Teams of up to six participants can register for a minimum $100 donation, which includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental, food, raffle entry, and access to the silent auction.
“Our crisis responders show up 24 hours a day, 365 days a year when families need us most,” Cabral added. “Every dollar raised helps ensure we can continue responding with steady, compassionate support. We’re asking our community to invest one afternoon in keeping that promise strong.”
Businesses and organizations interested in becoming “Game Changers” in support of the event can contact Cabral directly at [email protected].
