Robbery charges

Walpole Island police delivered a belated Christmas present to Chatham-Kent police Monday evening – a woman wanted in connection with a December robbery in Wallaceburg.

Police say on Dec. 23, a woman lifted items from a Duncan Street store. When staff approached the woman, police say scuffle ensued and the woman got away.

Surveillance footage identified the suspect and a warrant was issued.

Walpole Island police arrested the suspect and handed her over to C-K cops.

A 28-year-old Walpole Island woman is charged with robbery with intent.

Kid assaulted, man arrested

A Chatham man is up on charges after someone allegedly beat up a youth more than once recently.

Police were called Sunday night for a disturbance at a Forest Street residence.

Officers learned a man had assaulted a youth multiple times, but left prior to police arrival. A warrant was issued for his arrest

On Monday night, shortly before 11 p.m., police located the man on Curran Crescent in Chatham and slapped on a set of handcuffs.

A 35-year-old Chatham man faces two counts of assault causing bodily harm.
