
A Chatham man and woman face serious charges after another woman, 18, was assaulted and robbed Thursday, police say.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service was called about 6:40 p.m. Thursday evening for a report of an assault at an Indian Creek Road West residence in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that an 18-year-old female victim from Chatham went to the residence and wound up in a physical altercation with two individuals.
During the incident, the victim was assaulted several times and her personal items were taken, police say. Threats were also made to her during the encounter.
The victim was able to leave the residence but required medical attention.
Officers went to the home and located both accused.
A Chatham man and woman, both 40, face charges.
The woman is charged with robbery with violence and assault.
The man has a longer list to deal with. He’s charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate and strangle, and assault.
