When the court orders someone to stay away from another person, the smart thing to do is comply. However, what too often happens, especially in Chatham-Kent, is people seem to think they are above such things as court-ordered rules.
That was apparently the case on the weekend. Police were called about 5 a.m. Saturday morning over a disturbance at a Wallaceburg residence.
Police arrived and found a man and woman, both 34 and both from Wallaceburg, arguing.
The kicker is that the courts had previously given the man a probation order that prohibited him from speaking with the woman, police say.
The man and woman both face charges. The man is charged with failing to comply, while the woman is up on a charge of facilitating a breach of probation orders.
