A woman is up on charges after police say someone stole a cell phone on the weekend.
A Chatham man reported he left a Park Avenue East restaurant Saturday afternoon, but realized he’d forgotten his cell phone.
He returned to retrieve it, but it was gone. He saw several individuals leaving the restaurant at that time, but had no idea who had taken it.
Officers investigated, checked surveillance footage and had a suspect.
Police say the officers tracked her down on Park Avenue East and made an arrest.
A 32-year-old woman of no fixed address is charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
