
The death of a Moraviantown man is under investigation by the regional supervising coroner.
Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke of the West Region office in London, announced on Sept. 9 that an inquest will be held into the death of Thomas Humphrey.
Humphrey, a 35-year-old man of Delaware Nation at Moraviantown heritage, died in hospital more than six years ago following an interaction with Chatham-Kent Police Service officers.
An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Humphrey’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
