
Cameras don’t lie
A Chatham-Kent man has a date in court to answer to charges after someone broke into a Chatham business Sunday night.
A security alarm went off shortly before 10:30 p.m. at a Grand Avenue West business, and police responded.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a rear door had been damaged. They searched the business for a suspect, but found the place empty.
However, their investigation revealed that property had been taken.
Security camera footage provided officers with a description of the suspect.
Later that day, officers located the individual, and a search incident to arrest revealed property reported stolen from the business.
A 29-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with break and enter to commit mischief and theft.
Impaired charges after sign clipped
A local man faces impaired driving charges after someone drove into a sign in a parking lot in Blenheim Saturday afternoon.
Police were called shortly after 1:30 p.m. to a commercial property on Communication Road in Blenheim over a report of a vehicle hitting a sign.
Officers located the vehicle a short distance away and pulled it over.
They believed the driver had been drinking.
A 46-year-old Raleigh Township man is charged with impaired driving.
