Drug bust results in two arrests

Two Chatham individuals faces a multitude of charges following a July 30 drug raid.

Police raided one man’s home and stopped two pickup trucks as part of their investigation.

It began with pulling over one of the trucks, which led to drug trafficking charges for two of the suspects, but continued at the residence, as another man, 66, was charged, but was later released unconditionally.

A Chatham man, 57, and a Chatham woman, 39, are charged with four counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking (for fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone), as well as possession of a controlled substance (buprenorphine). The man also faces two counts of possession contrary to release conditions.

Police seized 63 grams of fentanyl, 15 grams of cocaine, 35 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 140 hydromorphone capsules of varying strengths, a handful of buprenorphine capsules, digital scales and a large quantity of cash.

Also seized were two BB handguns.

Police estimate the total street value of the seized substances at approximately $17,365.
