
A Tuesday night fire caused more than $500,000 damage to two residences on Gray Street in Chatham, according to C-K Fire & Rescue officials.
The fire took place around 10 p.m. Firefighters were called by 10:15 p.m. and arrived on scene a short time later to see both homes burning.
“Crews worked swiftly to contain and extinguish the blaze, preventing further spread to nearby properties,” officials said in a media release.
No one was hurt. The Ontario Fire Marshall has been notified, while local inspectors are investigating.
As a result, the cause remains under investigation.
