A Chatham man faces charges after an altercation on Kendall Street in Chatham Friday night.
Police were called shortly before 8:30 p.m., initially for a bail violation investigation.
Officers discovered that a man, bound by a release order prohibiting communication with the victim and from attending her address, had violated these conditions by going to her home, attempting to speak with her, and allegedly pushing her, police say. He also unlawfully entered the residence in search of property.
A 36-year-old Chatham man was located at his residence 20 minutes later and arrested. He is charged with failing to comply with release conditions, assault, and being unlawfully in a dwelling.
