
A Newbury senior died in a two-vehicle collision Sunday in East Kent.
Police report the crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Kenesserie Road and Gosnell Line.
In one vehicle, a 64-year-old woman from Howard Township was behind the wheel. She had three younger passengers with her, and all were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
However, the driver of the other vehicle, an 80-year-old woman from Newbury, suffered life-threatening injuries. She taken to hospital in Newbury where she later succumbed to those injuries.
The traffic management unit of the Chatham-Kent Police Service was tasked with investigating what happened. The area was closed for several hours but later reopened
The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
