A Ridgetown woman has died following a Thursday morning crash in Chatham-Kent.
Police say the two-vehicle collision took place about 10:30 a.m. on Longwoods Road between Wallace Street and Pitt Road. Each car contained only a driver at the time of the crash.
While one, a 29-year-old Thamesville man, was taken to the hospital in Chatham with minor injuries, the other, a 29-year-old Ridgetown woman, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Four Counties Hospital in Newbury, where she succumbed to those injuries.
Due to the severity of the situation, the traffic management unit attended the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation. The roadway remained closed for several hours but has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
