A Chatham man faces assault charges following what appears to be a domestic dispute on Jan. 1.
Police were called about 5 a.m. to an address on Houston Street in Chatham.
Officers learned that a man had assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her by the throat after the two individuals had been arguing.
The man then threw a glass bottle at the woman’s vehicle, causing damage to it, police say.
A 27-year-old Chatham man is charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of mischief.
