A group of teenagers face charges following a bomb threat on Jan. 1.

Chatham-Kent police responded to the call about 9 p.m., where someone called 911 and said there was a bomb onboard their VIA train.

Dispatch personnel were able to determine the caller was on a westbound train headed to Chatham.

Police stopped the train near Sass Road and Colborne Street in Chatham.

Officers located the caller, who was with three other teenagers.

Police learned the call was placed as a joke. That resulted in one of the youths, 15, being charged with public mischief.

It turns out three of the youths, including the alleged prankster, had release conditions that prevented them from associating with one another.

As a result, two more youths face new charges.
