Assault and nibbling
After allegedly striking and biting another woman June 5, a 20-year-old Blenheim woman has been arrested for assault.
According to Chatham-Kent police, officers responded to a disturbance on Campbell Street in Chatham mid-afternoon Wednesday. Investigators learned the woman attended the address to retrieve property and an argument began. The victim sustained minor injuries when the argument turned physical.
The suspect is slated to make a court appearance July 8.
Arrive in stolen ride; arrested
A report of suspicious activity on Scane Road in Ridgetown June 5, has led to the arrest of two people.
According to the Chatham-Kent Police Service, a Leamington man, 26, and a Chatham-Kent woman, 45, were observed arriving at a residence in a stolen vehicle shortly after 9 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers report the man gave a false name.
Police say that both were wanted on outstanding warrants by other police services. The male was charged with failing to comply with a release order, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and obstructing police.
The female is facing a charge of possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Impaired charge
A report of erratic driving on Highway 401 June 5, followed by a car in the ditch on Queen’s Line, has led to impaired driving charges against a Chatham man.
Police say the 28-year-old suspect left the scene in another vehicle. However, the second vehicle was located and the driver identified.
The man faces a 90-day suspension and a future court date.
Assault charges
A Wallaceburg man, 41, has been arrested for assault causing bodily harm in connection with an incident in Wallaceburg June 4.
Chatham-Kent police the man was released with a future court date.
