Baseball bat chucked at car

A Chatham woman faces charges after someone threw a baseball bat at a car Wednesday.

At 10:30 a.m., police responded to Raleigh Street in Chatham for a mischief investigation.

Through investigation, police learned the victim and the woman were involved in an ongoing neighbour dispute. On this occasion, the victim was driving away from her home when the woman threw a baseball bat at the victim’s vehicle, damaging the windshield, police say.

A 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with mischief.

Stolen credit card used, man arrested

A local man faces charges after getting stopped by a police officer Wednesday afternoon.

At 2:50 p.m., an officer located the man on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg while on general patrol. The officer knew the man from previous interactions.  

Police confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant concerning a fraud investigation from April 6. 

A 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with possessing stolen property and using a stolen credit card. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
