Summer ARTcrawl is back and hitting the streets of Chatham on Friday.

The Thames Art Gallery invites everyone to participate in the celebration of C-K’s art scene.

Creativity is key in this welcoming and festive event, according to organizers.

This summer’s crawl features artist openings, live artist demonstrations, an interactive museum display and a live musical performance by C-K’s Deep Southwest.

ARTcrawl begins with an artist reception at ARTspace at 165 1/2 King St. at 5 p.m. featuring local artist François Grenier.

Grenier is a finalist for the prestigious Winnifred Shantz Award for Ceramics and will present new work fresh from the kiln.

Experience local art and live painting demonstrations by Ron Vermeiren and Louise Carbonneau Vermeiren at Art & Heirloom, 137 King St. W.

Vicki McFarland will conduct a live painting performance set to music at the Chatham Cultural Centre at 75 William St. N. between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., featuring the support of Chatham Phoenix Cheer.

The evening culminates at 8 p.m. with three opening celebrations at the Cultural Centre. In the Thames Art Gallery’s main gallery space will be London area painter Kim Neudorf presenting an exhibition of paintings.

In the gallery’s mezzanine, Chatham’s Andrea Vuletin joins fellow artists Lesley McInally, Darlene Pratt and Dushka Vujovic for an exhibition celebrating their artistic growth and friendship developed through the pandemic.

To round things out, CK Museum will be opening its new family friendly exhibition Soil Superheroes.

The evening finds it second wind with a live music performance featuring Deep Southwest in Studio One. The music starts at 9:00 p.m.

Event maps are available online at tagartspace.com. Everyone is encouraged to enjoy a night out, make new acquaintances and celebrate Chatham-Kent’s vibrant art scene.

All events are free to the public.
