Assault charges

A Dresden man faces charges following a pair of police-related incidents recently.

Chatham-Kent police say they received a report of suspicious activity about 10:20 p.m. Thursday night on St. George Street in Dresden.   

Police arrived in the area and located the man. Officers confirmed the man was wanted for a May 31 assault investigation.

A 49-year-old Dresden man was arrested and charged with four counts of assault. 

A probation situation

Chatham-Kent police conducted a well-being check on a man lying on a bench in a park near Landings Place in Chatham Thursday evening, shortly after 6 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located the man and confirmed he did not require medical attention. 

Police learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.

A 30-year-old Raleigh Township man was arrested and released with a future court date.
