Northern map turtles sun themselves on a makeshift platform Paul Trudell, owner of Rondeau Joe’s has set up near the boat slips that abut his patio.
Trudell said as he donned a set of hip waders earlier in May and worked to secure the platform to the posts, several turtle heads popped out of the water to see what was going on.
Soon enough, they and their friends took advantage of Trudell’s work.
