Assault charge

A woman turned herself in Monday night to answer to assault charges from early February.

Chatham-Kent police say she stopped by the police station in Tilbury shortly before 10 p.m.

The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a Feb. 5 intimate partner violence investigation.

A 36-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and released with a future court date.

Skipped out on court

A Blenheim man has to answer to allegations he avoided his court date.

Chatham-Kent police tracked their suspect down Monday on Chatham Street South in Harwich Township.

The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to being charged with assaulting a police officer.

A 26-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and released with a future court date.

Warrant arrest

At 12:47 p.m., Police responded to Murray Street in Chatham for a disturbance. The man was located, and police confirmed a warrant was outstanding for the man’s arrest.

On March 21, a man was identified through surveillance footage as entering a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham, removing merchandise from the shelves, and leaving the store without attempting to pay for the items.

A 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft and possessing stolen property.

Light fingers

A late-night patrol in Wallaceburg led to a woman’s arrest.

Police say an officer on patrol on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg after 3 a.m. spotted a woman who was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a theft investigation from November of 2019.

A 26-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with theft and possessing stolen property.

Boozed up

At 11:13 p.m. Monday night, police responded to an address on Chatham Street South in Blenheim for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police located a man intoxicated and disruptive.

A 36-year-old Harwich Township man was arrested for breaching the peace and transported to police headquarters, where he was held until he was sober.
