Oh, yes, she went there

A Chatham man is facing multiple charges after Chatham-Kent police say a woman with whom he was supposed to have no contact visited him Sunday night.

Police got the call about 11:40 p.m. Sunday night in regard to a disturbance on Colborne Street.

Upon attending the residence, police located the man. Through investigation, the police learned a woman had been released by the court not to communicate with the man. The man was bound by several release orders not to communicate with the woman.

A 42- year-old Chatham woman left before police arrived, and a warrant has been sought for her arrest.

A 49-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with a recognizance and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Youth charged for threats

At 4:46 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a weapons investigation on Park Avenue West in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned an altercation occurred between a group of teenagers. During the argument, a female youth threatened to shoot another, police say, and motioned to have a weapon in her sleeve.

A 15-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

Assault charges for him, impaired for her

At 10:55 p.m. Sunday night, police responded to a domestic dispute on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

The woman had left the address in her vehicle but returned while police were on the scene.

Officers believed the woman to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, and she was arrested. The woman was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

Through investigation, police learned an altercation occurred between a man and the woman. The argument escalated when the man assaulted the woman, police say.

A 43-year-old Chatham woman was charged with operation of a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

At 3:06 a.m., police located the man, and he was arrested.

A 52-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault.
