Breach of release conditions

It took just over a month, but a man is back behind bars after police say he violated his release conditions.

The man, released Aug. 10, apparently texted person on Monday, according to police, which was a violation of his conditions. One condition states that he was not to communicate with any member of a specific family in Wheatley. The person he texted, police say, was a member of that family.

On Tuesday night, police located the man and he was arrested.

A 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.  He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Failing to comply

Back in mid-May, a man was released from court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend Wal-Mart in Chatham.

On Tuesday night, police say the man attended the store and was confronted by the loss prevention officer.

The man left the store prior to police arrival, however, was located a short time later.

A 45-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.
