Chatham’s Robert Brown shows off his recent winnings from an Encore draw.

Playing Encore paid off for a Chatham man recently.

Robert Brown matched the last six number on the Aug. 5 Encore draw, part of that day’s Lotto Max draw, winning $100,000 as a result.

Brown, a retiree and father of one, says this isn’t his first big win this year, as he also won $10,000 with Lottario.

“I play the lottery regularly. I always check my numbers on OLG.ca after the draws and I had to do a double take at the computer when I noticed I won. I normally don’t play Encore, but I decided to add it this time,” he said in a media release.

“My daughter is the first one I told. She was dumbfounded and shocked,” Robert said.

He plans to purchase a new car and save his win.

The winning ticket was purchased at Charlie’s Variety on Keil Drive in Chatham.
