Woman charged with assault

Last night, Chatham-Kent police received information regarding an incident of domestic violence at a residence in the Merlin area.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault.

Man charged with criminal harassment

On Sunday, police received information that a man was harassing another man and woman, known to him.

Early this morning, a 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment and uttering threats.

Failing to comply

In early September, a man was released from court with several conditions. Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Wallaceburg woman or attend her home.

On Monday morning, around 5:30 a.m., police say the man attended the woman’s home.

A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

Driving under suspension

Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on James Street in Wallaceburg.

The driver, a 35-year-old Newmarket man, was charged with driving while under suspension along with failing to produce his ownership and insurance.

Slow down, folks

Chatham-Kent police have set up speed traps all across the municipality on and off during the pandemic.

Yet drivers don’t seem to learn.

Yesterday, police again conducted traffic enforcement throughout Chatham-Kent.

Nineteen motorists were stopped and charged with speeding and various traffic related offences.
