Sexual assault

Chatham-Kent police on Friday arrested a 33-year-old Wallaceburg man and charged him with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Police say the man was released with a future court date.

Drug charges

On Sunday night, an officer on general patrol in Chatham initiated a traffic stop on Spencer Avenue.

Through investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and oxycontin. Total street value of the drugs was estimated at $23,100.

A 38-year-old Chatham man is charged with drug possession and two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking.

Threats, harassment

Last night, police responded to the report of an unwanted man at a residence on Charing Cross Road in Harwich Township.

Through investigation, police learned that the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s home and started knocking on her window. The man refused to leave when asked to.

A 21-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with uttering threats and criminal harassment for repeatedly sending messages to the woman. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Failing to Comply

Back in early July, a man was released from court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to be within 100 metres of a specific Blenheim woman.

Yet, on Sunday, an officer on general patrol in Blenheim observed the man’s vehicle in the area of the woman’s home. A short time later, the man was observed leaving the woman’s home.

A 36-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.
