B&E, van stolen

Sometime on Tuesday night between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., someone entered a residence Wedgewood Avenue in Chatham and stole keys to a 2011 blue Dodge Caravan.

The suspect(s) then stole the van, which was last seen with Ontario license plates CKAL187.

Arrested development

Yesterday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business in the downtown Chatham area.

Officers located the woman a short distance away and she was arrested.

A 34-year-old Chatham woman is charged with engaging in prohibited activity as per the Trespass to Property Act. She was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Curfew breach

Early this morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to the report of a suspicious man on the property of a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by several conditions, including a daily curfew of 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. and not to attend this specific business.

A 24-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with five counts of failing to comply with his release conditions and two counts of failing to comply with his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Copper wire stolen

Sometime since the summer months, someone forced their way into a fenced property on Zion Road and stole copper wiring from a shed.
