Biggest one-day jump for Chatham-Kent
Chatham-Kent saw a jump to six new cases of COVID-19, reported on Wednesday afternoon.
Dr. David Colby, medical officer of health for Chatham-Kent, said all of them are from the same workplace.
He would not disclose the location.
“And we are investigating that that cluster with full energy, and we’ll have better information later on that. But they’re all isolated, and we’re running down their contacts and doing what we do in public health,” he said Thursday morning.

Locally, almost one percent of the municipality’s population has been tested to date, with a total of 1,115 tests issued, 217 of which are still pending their results.
Colby said the testing, which takes place in London, is now done within 24 hours.
More than half of Chatham-Kent’s cases are active, with 15 out of the 37 resolved and one person deceased.
C-K Public Health has recently changed its method of reporting cases and is no longer disclosing the age, gender and status of each individual case. Instead it is providing a community snapshot with the percentage of males to females; individuals in self-isolation, hospitalized, recovered or deceased; as well as age groups.
Colby said so far, there have been no community-transmitted cases.
Why are they so afraid to disclose age and gender? That would be interesting knowing what age groups these people are in for a multitude of reasons. People have the right to know all the facts.
Chatham is not transparent at all, but kudos to The Chatham Voice for trying. Which travel destinations? Which workplace? People would know if they came in contact with that workplace or those who were employed there or families, and could go forward instead of wandering unknowingly in the community.
