Beer, meat stolen from local restaurant

Sometime between Sunday at 8 p.m. and yesterday at 10 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a building at Southside Tap and Grill on Charing Cross Road and stole 6 kegs of beer, and meat.

Total value of the theft was approximately $2700.

Bent metal, impaired charge

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Ella Street in Tilbury.

Officers located the man at a nearby residence as he fled the scene of the collision.

Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

Randall Turner, 57 years, of Tilbury was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and driving while prohibited. He was released pending a future court date of May 26, 2020

 

Homeowner interrupts B&E

Shortly after 11:30 a.m. yesterday morning, a resident of Fairview Line arrived home to find two men inside his residence.

The men fled westbound toward Highway 40 in a red car.

Through investigation, police learned that the men forced their way into the home by smashing a glass door, causing about $200 damage.

The men stole a 55-inch Samsung television and cash.

B&E in Harwich Township

Sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning, unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a residence on Ridge Line, causing about $200 damage.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a 50-inch RCA television, Bluetooth speaker and two baby monitors.

Fail to comply

Yesterday, a woman was running errands in Tilbury when she heard a man yell her name.

As the man parked his truck, he continued yelling her name, despite being on conditions not to communicate with her.

The 68-year-old Tilbury man was located and arrested. He was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions. He was released pending a future court date of March 23, 2020.

 

Motor vehicle collision

Last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Drake Road near Seventh Line.

The driver lost control of his vehicle, struck the guardrail and came to rest in the ditch.

Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

The 19-year-old Dover Township man was charged with careless driving.
