A few tense moments at a Chatham home last night, where Chatham-Kent police called in their Critical Incident Response Team.
Officers attended the residence and learned a man wanted for violence domestic-related offences, as well as breaching his probation order, was inside.
As the officer believed he had a weapon, they called for backup – the CIRT team.
A search of the home initially revealed nothing, but after hearing noises coming from the attic and seeing insulation on the floor of a bedroom with attic access, the CIRT team staked out the attic entrance.
Police say the man eventually came down and turned himself in.
A 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested on outstanding warrants.
