Today, there are charges for people being where they shouldn’t be, or when they shouldn’t be, with what they shouldn’t have, or with whom they shouldn’t be.

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two-vehicle fender bender on McNaughton Avenue near Taylor Avenue.

There were no injuries, but the investigating officers learned something wasn’t right.

A 27-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to comply with his release conditions, as police say the man, one of the drivers, was with a woman with whom he was ordered to not be near.

Furthermore, the passenger, a 24-year-old Chatham woman, is charged with being the owner of the vehicle and allowing the vehicle to be driven with no insurance.

About 3 a.m. this morning, an officer pulled a vehicle over on Churchill Park Road in Chatham.

Investigation, police say, revealed that a male passenger in the vehicle was in violation of his curfew.

A 37-year-old Chatham man is charged with breaching his curfew.

Another late-night gentleman faces charges, as an officer spotted a man in parking lot on Richmond Street about 12:30 p.m., and learned he was breaching his curfew. Police say as the man was being arrested, he tried to pass a plastic container of cocaine to his girlfriend.

A 34-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to comply and possession.

And just before 10 p.m. last night, officers responded to a disturbance on Queen Street in Chatham. Police say a woman jumped into a vehicle with a man, and that one of her release conditions was that she was to stay away from two specific guys…and the guy in the van was one of those men.

A 23-year-old Chatham woman is charged with failing to comply.

Yesterday afternoon, police located a man wanted in connection with two separate shoplifting incidents in Wallaceburg, failing to comply with his release conditions and failing to attend court.

A 49-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Around 1 a.m. this morning, police located a woman wanted for breaching her Probation Order and failing to attend court.

A 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
