Chatham resident Susan Webster captured this great white egret while it was on a fishing expedition at a pond near The Landings Subdivision recently.

More native to the southern U.S. the great white egrets are being seen in southern parts of Canada more frequently.

It adapts well to human habitation, so it does not mind fishing in urban areas, as seen here.
