Individuals are being sought to fill eight volunteer positions on the municipality’s new Community Partnership Fund Citizen Review Committee.

The committee, which will also include five municipal staff members, will be responsible for reviewing project applications and providing recommendations to council on distribution of municipal grant funding.

Council allocates funds each year to assist groups to complete projects or hold events intended to benefit the community. Funds are distributed through the Community Partnership Fund (CPF) – a competitive, application-based funding program that provides funds based on category and overall project cost.

Volunteers are required to apply for a position on the committee.

The application form can be found by visiting the municipal website chatham-kent.ca and searching “CPF review committee.”

Successful applicants will hold the position for the term of council. Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant’s experience in a number of areas including volunteer work and committee experience.

Volunteers will need to be available for a minimum of twelve (12) hours in April to come to meetings to review Community Partnership Fund – Annual Grant Program applications.

Amy Wilcox, Chatham-Kent manager of corporate initiatives, said the committee provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the community.

“We’re looking for individuals with a broad base of experience since the committee will be dealing the applications for funding from a wide variety of areas,” she said in a media release.
