Chatham-Kent Animal Rescue recently received a $2,500 donation from the Christian Labour Association of Canada.

Laurie King, a CLAC member who works at Eden Villa, nominated the animal rescue organization for a donation from the union’s Building Communities Together program.

“CK Animal Rescue is a registered non-profit organization that runs entirely on donations and community support,” King said. “CK Animal Rescue takes in local owner surrenders, as well as dogs from high-kill shelters that are scheduled to be euthanized. We place dogs and cats into approved foster homes until adoptive homes are found. We also provide classroom presentations to teach school aged children about compassion and kindness towards animals. This donation will go towards the medication and care for our animals.”
