Thieves busy across Chatham-Kent

Shoplifters

Last night around 8:30 p.m. police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

A 21-year-old woman and 18-year-old woman, both from Chatham were arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000.  They were both released pending a future court date.

Theft of Copper

Sometime over the past weekend, unknown suspect(s) entered the Suncor Energy Substation on Huffs Side Road.  Once inside the fenced in area, the suspect(s) stole approximately 60 feet of braided copper wire valued at $1500.

Theft of Bikes  

Sometime within the last week, unknown suspect(s) entered a shed on Park Avenue West and stole a black and white Schwinn bike and black and white CCM mountain bike.  Total valued of the theft is approximately $1500.

Break and Enter  

Sometime between April 14 and April 18, unknown suspect(s) entered a residence on Princess Street in Chatham and stole about $750 worth of electronics.

Theft of Tools

Sometime between April 16 at 7:30 p.m. and April 17 at 12:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on Talbot Street in Blenheim and stole various tools.
