A local man with a fondness for Captain Morgan’s white rum found himself arrested and jailed last night.

The man was seen leaving the January 4 around five p.m. leaving  the LCBO on Wellington Street in Chatham with two bottles of rum inside his coat.

The man left the store making no attempt to pay for the alcohol valued at $28.

The man was identified, an arrest warrant was issued and shortly after nine he was located and taken into custody.

The 42-year-old was taken into custody and later released with conditions pending a court date of February 5.
