Chatham-Kent police say they arrested the same man twice in the same day at the same place yesterday.

Back on March 16, a man was released from custody with several conditions, one of which was that he wasn’t to communicate with a specific woman, or be within 200 metres of her residence.

On Tuesday morning, officers went to her home, answering a call of a disturbance. Police say they found the man in the woman’s home and went to arrest him, but the man fled, escaping out the front door.

But, like a rabbit, he eventually looped around.

Police say shortly after 5 p.m., officers returned to the residence on an unrelated matter and found the man hiding in a bedroom closet.

A 41-year-old Chatham man is charged with escaping lawful custody and two counts of failing to comply.
