A man lasted a mere nine days with his release conditions before winding up back behind bars in Chatham.
Police say a man was released from custody on Feb. 20 with conditions not to communicate with his ex-girlfriend.
On March 1, just nine days later, police say he sent her a text message and asked her not to tell anyone.
On Monday afternoon, police found the man and took him back into custody.
A 19-year-old Zurich man has been charged with failing to comply.
