It was a rough night for a Chatham man, who apparently couldn’t remember where he lived.

Chatham-Kent police received a call just before 1 a.m. this morning saying a man was trying to get into different apartments on Riverview Drive.

He wasn’t trying to break in, as police say he was using his own keys.

Since he couldn’t find his own abode, police arrested the man for his own safety, they said.

A 41-year-old Chatham man faces a charge of being intoxicated in a public place. Police were holding him until he sobered up and knew where he actually lived.
